Comparison of two photolytic calibration methods for nitrous acid

چکیده
Abstract. Nitrous acid (HONO) plays an important role in tropospheric oxidation chemistry as it is a precursor to the hydroxyl radical (OH). Measurements of HONO have been difficult historically due instrument interferences and difficulties sampling calibration. The traditional calibration method involves generation by reacting hydrogen chloride vapor with sodium nitrite followed quantification various methods (e.g., conversion nitric oxide (NO) chemiluminescence detection). Alternatively, can be generated photolytically gas phase NO OH radicals H2O photolysis. In this work, we describe compare two photolytic that were used calibrate iodide adduct chemical ionization mass spectrometer (CIMS). Both are based on water photolysis commonly for HO2 (known collectively HOx) calibrations. first adaptation common actinometry HOx method, which calculated quantified values [O3], [H2O], [O2] absorption cross sections O2 at 184.9 nm. second, novel prepared mostly N2 ([O2]=0.040 %) simply measuring NO2 formed reaction prepare wide range mixing ratios between ∼400 8000 pptv. uncertainty actinometric 27 % (2σ) independent concentration. proxy concentration-dependent, limited measurements. uncertainties presented here from 4.5 24.4 (at [HONO] =8000 pptv =630 pptv, respectively) 10 associated ratio ∼1600 typical observed urban areas night. We also potential application calibrating instruments LIF, CIMS) below 15 (2σ).

Comparison of the Obtained Results from Two Calibration Methods in MRI Brachytherapy Normoxic Polymer Gel Dosimetry
Introduction: Despite the fact that the clinical implementation of polymer gel dosimetry has been facilitated after the introduction of normoxic gels, there are still complications in its clinical routine use that are under investigation. In the current work, the feasibility of using a normoxic polymer gel dosimeter named MAGICA has been investigated for use in our clinical brachytherapy applic...
متن کاملComparison of Calibration Methods for Tristimulus Colorimeters
Uncertainties in source color measurements with a tristimulus colorimeter are estimated for calibration factors determined, based on a known source spectral distribution or on accurate measurements of the spectral responsivities of the colorimeter channels. Application is to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) colorimeter and an International Commission on Illumination (CI...
متن کاملon the comparison of keyword and semantic-context methods of learning new vocabulary meaning
the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...
